Yakima Neighborhood Health Services Job Title: Special Projects Coordinator

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Previous work experience at YNHS where applicable skills have been demonstrated High school diploma or GED. Skill in customer service. Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation. Skills in data-entry. Ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetical or numeric systems. Bilingual English/Spanish required. Convenient if bilingual in English/Laotian, English / Cambodian, English/Vietnamese, English/Russian, and/or ability to sign.

 

Supervised by: Primary Care Administrator

 

Position(s) supervises: None. However this position is part of the management / supervisory team.

 

Typical Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Requires prolonged walking and standing, frequent bending, stooping or stretching. May involve lifting or positioning patients. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Required to work under stressful conditions and with patients who are often in discomfort and/or pain. May be exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. Requires ability to sustain concentration in a noisy and fast-paced environment.

 

Examples of Duties (this list may not all include all the duties assigned):

ß         Identify and screen clients for eligibility to available clinic services i.e. Breast & Cervical Screening Project, Lead Screening, etc.

ß         Provide services to clients as designated by special program guidelines. Maintain required tracking and program documentation.

ß         Provide paternity testing, working directly with the Yakima County Office of Support Enforcement.

ß         Act as liaison to Yakima Health District in regards to state-supplied vaccines. Administer immunizations in accordance with CDC guidelines as approved by the YNHS medical director.

ß         Assist with patient follow‑up activities, including referrals, recall and other patient needs.

ß         Assist other medical services staff with patient flow as needed and/or directed.

ß         Assist with supply management and appropriate stocking of exam rooms.

ß         Maintain proper sanitation standards, according to YNHS procedure, both with cleaning and sterilization procedures of patient facilities and instruments.

  • Assist with development of departmental policies and procedures
  • Receive patient complaints and compliments. Address issues as needed, and/or direct concerns to appropriate supervisor and/or administrator.
  • Work with other supervisors and administrative staff to address organization-wide issues, including program development, personnel policies, employee evaluations, training needs, safety concerns and quality assurance indicators.  Make recommendations and/or decisions for improvement based on the impact to the organization, rather than any single department.
  • Maintain organized, clean, efficient and confidential work area.
  • Represent YNHS in local meetings as requested.
  • Perform related work or other tasks as requested.

 

Working Relationships:

All YNHS employees are expected to develop and maintain professional and courteous working relationships with all other YNHS employees, patients, visitors, health profession students, vendors, and volunteers of the organization. In addition, YNHS employees are expected to provide courteous and efficient service to health and social service agencies working with YNHS patients.
