Yakima Neighborhood Health Services Job Title:  Primary Care Operations Manager

Minimum Qualifications:
BA/BS in health related field. Formal training in communication preferred, with abilities in customer service and professional interactions. Qualified candidates should demonstrate abilities to speak and write concisely, and be keyboard literate.  Experience working in an accredited setting preferred.  Must be mission-oriented and committed to serving the uninsured and underserved populations. Convenient if bilingual in English/Spanish, and/or ability to sign.

Supervised by:  Medical Director and Primary Care Administrator

Position(s) supervises:  Nursing Supervisor, Medical Assistant Supervisor, Medical Supply Manager, and Office Manager.

Examples of Duties (this list may not all include all the duties assigned):

  • Oversees daily operations of medical services under the direction of the Medical Director and Primary Care Administrator.
  • Ensure the efficiency of patient flow by overseeing staffing patterns of nurses, medical assistants, and receptionists. 
  • Work with Nursing Supervisor, Medical Assistant Supervisor, and Office Manager to maximize patient flow.
  • Work with Medical Supply Manager to maintain adequate supplies.
  • Manage and coordinate provider schedules (call schedules and leave requests) under protocols set by the Medical Director. Manage electronic scheduling system to maximize access and productivity.
  • Develop and Oversee QA activities to standardize and create accountability of patient intake procedures.
  • Work with QA Coordinator and QA clinicians to help providers interact with EMR systems.
  • Assist in development and measurement of clinical care guidelines.
  • Receive patient complaints and compliments, and follow up as appropriate. 
  • Assist with training/orientation, and performance evaluation of medical support staff.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Coordinate Inservice activities for all medical staff meetings.
  • Coordinate and facilitate Provider Network Meetings Ð disseminate information as directed by Medical Director to support staff.
  • Prepare and respond to program contractors,  health plan audits / reviews.
  • Represent YNHS in local meetings as requested.
  • Perform related work or other tasks as requested.
  • Typical Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
  • Requires prolonged walking and standing, frequent bending, stooping or stretching. May involve lifting or positioning patients.  Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.  Required to work under stressful conditions and with patients who are often in discomfort and/or pain.  May be exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.

All YNHS employees are expected to develop and maintain professional and courteous working relationships with all other YNHS employees, patients, visitors, health profession students, vendors, and volunteers of the organization.  In addition, YNHS employees are expected to  provide courteous and efficient service to health and social service agencies working with YNHS patients.
