Yakima Neighborhood Health Services Job Title: Pharmacy Manager

Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a B.S degree in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy, Washington State licensure, and at least one years experience. Declaration stating that he/she has never been found guilty in any court of competent jurisdiction of violating any laws relating to drugs or the practice of pharmacy Candidate must also have the ability to speak clearly and concisely. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction. Convenient if bilingual English/Spanish, English/Laotian, English/Cambodian, English Vietnamese, and or ability to sign.

Supervised by: Primary Care Administrator / Medical Director(s)

Position(s) supervises: Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants

Typical Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Requires prolonged walking and standing, frequent bending, stooping or stretching. May involve lifting or positioning patients. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Required to work under stressful conditions and with patients who are often in discomfort and/or pain. May be exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. Requires ability to sustain concentration in a noisy and fast paced environment.

Examples of Duties (this list may not include all the duties assigned):

Dispensing legend and non-legend medications for YNHS patients and other YNHS – contracted sites.

Provide drug information to patients, nurses, physicians trainees and other employees by using available resources and references.

Order and maintain medication stock YNHS pharmacy.

Supervise and help train pharmacy ancillary staff, externs, residents, clerkship students and new pharmacists.

Assist in quality assurance as directed by Medical Director

Work with other supervisors and administrative staff to address organization-wide issues, including program development, personnel policies, employee evaluations, training needs, safety concerns and quality assurance indicators. Make recommendations and/or decisions for improvement based on the impact to the organization, rather than any single department.

Maintain organized, clean, efficient and confidential work area.

Represent YNHS in local meetings as requested.

Perform related work and other tasks as requested

Working Relationships:
All YNHS employees are expected to develop and maintain professional and courteous working relationships with all other YNHS employees, patients, visitors, health profession students, vendors, and volunteers of the organization. In addition, YNHS employees are expected to provide courteous and efficient service to health and social service agencies working with YNHS patients.
