Yakima Neighborhood Health Services Job Title: OB Coordinator

 

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. Experience as a medical assistant or certificate of CMA or CNA completion. Post-secondary education or experience or previous work experience at YNHS where applicable skills have been demonstrated. Convenient if bilingual in English/Spanish, English/Laotian, English / Cambodian, English/Vietnamese, English/Russian, and/or ability to sign.

Position(s) supervises: None.

 

Typical Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

Requires prolonged walking and standing, frequent bending, stooping or stretching. May involve lifting or positioning patients. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Required to work under stressful conditions and with patients who are often in discomfort and/or pain. May be exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. Requires ability to sustain concentration in a noisy and fast-paced environment.

 

Examples of Duties (this list may not all include all the duties assigned):

ß         Perform ongoing chart review of prenatal patients to assure completion of treatment recommendations and chart documentation (including consent, releases, patient demographic information). Coordinate prenatal care with other services available at YNHS (WIC, Maternity Support Services, Case Management, dental care).

ß         Work with reception and scheduling staff to maximize patient flow and provide one stop shopping services for YNHS patients, facilitating services from WIC, MSS, dental, pediatrics, etc.

ß         Work with reception and billing staff to make financial arrangements with prenatal clients. Coordinate prenatal intake activities to include medical coverage through DSHS.

ß         Accept responsibility to keep contracted OB providers current on YNHS policies and procedures, organizational issues, and quality assurance activities.

ß         Deliver copies of prenatal records to hospitals in preparation for patients deliveries.

ß         Assist other medical services staff with patient flow as needed and/or directed.

ß         Assist with supply management and appropriate stocking of exam rooms.

ß         Maintain proper sanitation standards, according to YNHS procedure, both with cleaning and sterilization procedures of patient facilities and instruments.

Working Relationships:

In addition, YNHS employees are expected to provide courteous and efficient service to health and social service agencies working with YNHS patients.

 

Salary Range:

Salary Level C
