Title: Chief Executive Officer
Minimum Qualifications:
Seven
years of executive level experience including at least five years experience in
the administration of a major clinic.
MHA, MBA, or MS in health administration or business administration may
be substituted for four years of executive level experience.
Supervised by: Chairman of the Board of Directors
Position(s)
supervises: Primary Care Administrator,
Public Health Administrator, Medical Director, Dental Director,
Controller. Oversees activities of
department supervisors and all the organization's staff.
Typical Physical Demands and Working
Conditions:
Requires
sitting for long periods of time. Some
bending and stretching required. Ability to lift papers or boxes up to 30
pounds occasionally. Requires corrected
vision and hearing to normal range.
Manual dexterity and eye-hand
coordination required for use of calculators, phones, computer keyboards
and other equipment. Requires ability
to sustain concentration in a noisy and fast-paced environment. Frequent travel required.
Examples of Duties (this list may not all
include all the duties assigned):
- Participates with
governing board in charting and implementing the mission in response to
the changing needs of the community.
- Recommends, develops,
and updates strategic long-range plans to support the clinic's philosophy
and goals.
- Informs board about
current trends, problems and activities affecting clinic programs.
- Recommends clinic
policy positions regarding administrative and personnel matters.
- Recommends and monitors
annual budget to the Board of Directors.
- Coordinates the
long-range financial development and management of the organization.
- Participates and
coordinates selection and training of new board members.
- Coordinates with board,
medical staff and other personnel the monitoring of the organization’s
activities to assure fulfillment of the community's needs for quality
care.
- Assures the provision
of affordable health care by the acquisition, utilization and organization
of resources (human, financial and physical). Develops improved management techniques and practices.
- Assures compliance with
all regulatory agencies.
Continually monitors operations, programs, and physical
properties. Initiates appropriate
change.
- Encourages integration
of organizations programs internally, as well as with the community
through effective communication and public relations programs.
- Represents the
organization in its relationships with other health organizations,
government agencies, and local / state / national associations.
- Directs and supervises
all activities through department supervisors. Consults with supervisors
on a regular basis.
- Provides assistance to
supervisors in establishing philosophy and objectives related to staffing
and performance standards, policies and procedures, and compliance with
applicable regulations.
- Resolves administrative
staff problems and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure
high employee morale and a professional, healthful atmosphere.
- Maintains professional
affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to keep
current in the latest trends in clinic administration.
- Receive patient
complaints and compliments. Address issues as needed, and/or direct
concerns to appropriate supervisor and/or administrator.
- Work with other
supervisors and administrative staff to address organization-wide issues,
including program development, personnel policies, employee evaluations,
training needs, safety concerns and quality assurance indicators. Make recommendations and/or decisions
for improvement based on the impact to the organization, rather than any
single department.
- Maintain organized,
clean, efficient and confidential work area.
- Maintains strict
confidentiality.
- Performs related work
and other tasks as required.
Working Relationships:
All
YNHS employees are expected to develop and maintain professional and courteous
working relationships with all other YNHS employees, patients, visitors, health
profession students, vendors, and volunteers of the organization. In addition, YNHS employees are expected to
provide courteous and efficient service to health and social service agencies
working with YNHS patients.
Salary Range:
Negotiable. Dependent on education and previous
experience as applicable to this position. |
